The Fundamental Qualities

 

1. Civic Virtue
 
Through courses of democracy & rule of law, media literacy, civil society and gender awareness, students will develop the fundamental qualities and knowledge crucial to being a modern citizen, and furthermore, they will be able to deal with public affairs with a more objective and rational viewpoint.
 
 
2. Health and Sociability
 
Through taking courses related to the learning area, students will cultivate their basic language ability, multifaceted communicative skills and health care knowledge. Most important of all, students will develop empathy and tolerance, enhance their interpersonal communication ability and contribute to social harmony.
 
 
3. Humanistic Reflection
 
Through studying history, culture and literature, students will learn about the various civilization of the world and cultivate their understanding of cultural connotations. Furthermore, students will realize the interdependence and conflict between civilizational development and human life and thus, reflect upon the meaning and value of life.
 
 
4. Arts & Aesthetics 
 
Nurtured by music and visual arts courses, students will understand the relationship between life and art. Moreover, students will enhance their aesthetic experience, gain appreciation of art, develop creative thinking ability and therefore cultivate their aesthetics of life and improve their quality of life.
 
 
5. Nature and Ecology 
 
Through taking courses on the global environment and life, students will learn about the relationship between humans and nature and the issue of global change. More importantly, students will develop the right concept to protect the earth, appreciate resources and respect life in order to ensure the sustainable development of humanity.
 
 
6. Information Technology 
 
Through learning about technology, information and medical science, students will recognize information technology, the internet world and other innovative ideas pertaining to other technological developments. In other words, students are expected to grasp the trend of modern competition of globalization and gain knowledge of information and technology.
